Welcome from the Principal
A Hadeeth (narration) of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) teaches us that: “God loves, when one of you is doing something, that he (or she) does it in the most excellent manner.”
A very warm welcome to the Eden Boys’ School, Bolton web-site. Eden Boys’ is an inclusive, progressive and outward-looking Muslim faith-based secondary school that opened in September 2014 with 100 students in Year 7 and 50 students in Year 8.
Over the past 2 years we have admitted two further intakes into the Eden Family and the number of students in school is now over 380. Each year we will welcome another set of pupils into Year 7 until we have 500 11-16 year olds in 2017. We will be opening a 200 place sixth form in 2018.
In January 2016 we moved into a brand new state-of-art building with outstanding teaching and learning rooms, 7 Science labs, 2 ICT rooms, a Design Technology Studio, an inspiring Learning Resource Centre (Library), an excellent Sports Hall and Fitness Room, excellent outdoor space including a MUGA and football pitch, a modern dining hall, a very peaceful Assembly Hall, and an amazing courtyard.
OUR VISION is Nurturing Today’s Young People, Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders
We offer a culture of high expectations, a high powered academic curriculum, an exciting enrichment programme and a strong emphasis on community service. At Eden every student matters; we take a personalised approach ensuring that each student has a set of aspirational, but achievable, targets; and a school offer that helps every student to achieve them.
Through outstanding teaching and learning, access to fantastic enrichment activities and opportunities to serve others, our boys will develop into successful and dynamic young leaders ready to play their part in serving their families, communities and country. Their time at Eden will be a transformational experience leading to levels of achievement, attainment and self-belief that might seem unattainable to them today.
OUR STAR VALUES are Service, Teamwork, Ambition, and Respect
Our emphasis on community service and respect will keep our students grounded – understanding their individual and collective responsibilities and the important role they have to play in improving their communities. We promote Fundamental British Values, spiced with the friendliness and diversity that is a hallmark of Bolton and Boltonians. We welcome applications from pupils of all faiths and none. We want every student – regardless of faith or background – to become an ambitious, well-qualified, rounded British citizen, and a proud Boltonian, who aspires to be of service to others and to be the very best he can be in all aspects of his life.
Listening to our Parents, Students, Staff and Community
Eden Boys’ exists because local parents lobbied long and hard for an ambitious and progressive Muslim faith based school for their sons. Like them, I believe in the power of outstanding education to transform lives, empower communities and create exemplary citizens.
By consulting with, listening to and engaging all our stakeholders Eden has continued to improve and to grow. The Student and Parent Shuras (Councils) meet regularly with our Senior Leadership Team and provide invaluable feedback about our provision and ideas about how we can further improve the school. Their energy, ideas and suggestions have helped us to continue to improve every aspect of school life.
Every great journey starts with a single step. We took our first steps in September 2014, now I hope you will join us as we continue on our great learning journey. The year ahead, like every year, is filled with big challenges and new opportunities. These are challenges we look forward to meeting and opportunities we look forward to embracing – we will do so with the same energy and enthusiasm that helped us to make such a great start in September 2014.
We will continue to make sure every single students gets our full attention and makes the very best progress possible. We will continue to need your support and du’aas (prayers) – I am confident that you will continue to be there for us whenever we need you.
