Celebrations for Eden Boys’ School, Bolton after exceptional GCSE results

The school community at Eden Boys’ School, Bolton is celebrating after its pupils secured exceptional GCSE results this summer.

School staff and parents joined pupils in school as they opened the results that will enable them to progress onto the next stage of their education.

Haarith Abdul, one of the school’s top performers, is on cloud nine after achieving 11 GCSEs at Grade 7 and above (the top grades). Studious Haarith was awarded a grade 9 in Religious Studies and five grade 8s in Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Physics. Haarith thanked staff at the school who he said had been incredibly supportive. He said:

“All the teachers and support staff have helped me so much. They showed me the steps I needed to take to achieve my dreams, and, at each step, I was encouraged to go a little bit further. I am so grateful to everyone who has helped me to achieve these grades and for helping me to grow into the person I am today.” Haarith leaves us to study Computer Science and Maths at Bolton Sixth Form.

Saad Chughtai was another of the school’s high achievers. Saad completed all of his GCSEs at grade 7 or above and plans to continue his studies at Bolton Sixth Form. Saad was overjoyed that his results will enable him to pursue his dream subjects at A level:

“I’m so excited to have received the grades I need to go on to study Graphic Design, IT, Art and Design at Bolton Sixth Form. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I can’t wait for college to begin in September so that I can continue to fulfil my dreams. Thank you so much to everyone at Eden Boys’ School for helping me to get so far.”

Muhammad Kapadia overcame serious illness to achieve seven grade 7s. Despite missing many days in school due to ill health, Muhammad’s hard work and determination helped him to achieve the grades he needed to study A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Business and Maths. Muhammad, who will continue his studies at Bolton School or Bolton Sixth Form, said:

“If you had told me at the beginning of Year 7 that I would go on to achieve these results or to develop the confidence that I have, I would never have believed you. I’m just so grateful to all the teachers, staff and my parents and friends for helping me to grow and develop into the person I am today.”

Eli Short, achieved eleven top 9-7 grades with grade 9s in Biology, English Literature and Religious Studies. Eli is now looking forward to studying Maths, Physics and Music Technology at Bolton Sixth Form. Eli commented:

“I am so pleased with my results – I’ve worked hard throughout school and am very glad to have achieved these grades. I’ve had a great time at Eden Boys’ School and will really miss my school family. We’ve all supported one another through these difficult times, and I think that this has helped me to become the very best person I can be.”

Rayyan Cadjee, who joined the school in Year 10, has overcome the added challenge of moving to a new country during his GCSEs. Despite this, Rayyan achieved ten GCSEs, including a grade 9 in French, two grade 7s and four grade 6s. He said: He said:

“I’ve worked hard for these grades, and I am so glad that my hard work has been recognised. The teachers at my school have very high expectations and I always knew that they would help and inspire me get to the next level. “It is such a wonderful feeling to finally have these results and be able to go on to the next stage of my life. I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me get here.” Rayyan now plans to study Maths, Physics and Geography at Runshaw College

Sue Gill-Daintith, Principal at Eden Boys’ School, Bolton, said:

“Many congratulations to our pupils on their outstanding results. We are so pleased for all our boys that their hard work and dedication has paid off. They can all be very proud of their achievements as they go on to the next chapter of their lives. We wish them the best of luck for the future and look forward to hearing about their future successes.”
